CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS COMPETE AT DRAGON RELAYS IN BELTON
On Wednesday evening, our middle school cross country teams traveled to Belton to compete in the annual Dragon Relays, a local meet that brought together schools from across the area for a unique relay-style race. Instead of the traditional individual format, each team was made up of four runners, with each athlete completing an 800-meter lap before handing off to a teammate.
Our school was proudly represented by three 7th grade girls’ teams and one 8th grade girls’ team. All of the runners showed outstanding effort and teamwork throughout the evening.
The top 7th grade girls’ team, made up of Lilliana Corona, Lily Idoux, Amy Yaryan, and Arianna Parker, finished strong, placing 13th overall with a combined time of 18:33.7. The 8th grade girls’ team — Ava Boeslt, Kate Jones, Paisley Burdine, and Quinn Billings — also put in a determined performance, crossing the line in 26th place with a total time of 20:34.7. In all, there were 29 teams competing in the girls’ division.
The Dragon Relays gave our athletes a great chance to challenge themselves, support their teammates, and gain valuable race experience early in the season. Congratulations to all of our runners for their hard work and determination!
