BMS AT BONHAM
The Lady Tigers roared into Bonham Middle School ready for battle, and by the end of the night, they made sure the Bulldogs knew exactly who ruled the court. The gym shook with energy as each match unfolded—every rally was fierce, every serve precise, and every dive fueled by heart. From the very first whistle, Belton’s intensity never wavered.
The 7A and 7B teams fought through nail-biting sets that had the crowd on edge, showcasing their grit and composure under pressure. Their communication, hustle, and relentless determination paid off as they clawed their way to back-to-back victories. Meanwhile, 8A and 8B showed tremendous fight and spirit, refusing to let Bonham gain an easy point. Their quick reactions, sharp serves, and defensive saves proved that even when the scoreboard was close, the Tigers’ spirit burned brighter.
It was a night filled with epic saves, lightning-fast dives, and teamwork that could only come from a program built on discipline and pride.The Lady Tigers left their mark on Bonham’s court, roaring loud, playing fierce, and reminding everyone that Belton doesn’t just play volleyball—they dominate it.
8A: The Belton Middle School 8A volleyball team faced a tough opponent in Bonham, falling in two hard-fought sets. Though the scoreboard didn’t fall in their favor, the Tigers showed incredible effort, skill, and teamwork throughout the match.
Grace Thomas led the team with an outstanding all-around performance. She delivered eight successful serves, including one ace, and dominated at the net with seven kills and three assists. One of the highlights of the game came when Grace made an incredible diving save, keeping the rally alive and electrifying the crowd. She also added two smart pushes that kept Bonham on their toes all game long.
Ynissa Wightman was a force from the service line with six strong serves, three of which were aces. At the net, she added three powerful kills. Ynissa's hustle on defense stood out as she consistently moved quickly on serve receive, showing great anticipation and commitment to the ball.
Ava Baggett anchored the back row with her solid defense. She was a key part of the Tigers' serve receive with accurate passing, and contributed with several key digs to stop Bonham’s attacks. Ava also stood out for her excellent court communication, helping her teammates stay in sync throughout the match.
Emily Potts added to the team’s momentum with eight consistent serves, including three aces. She also contributed two kills and two timely tips, showing her smart play at the net. Emily impressed coaches and fans with her ability to read the ball well on every play, always staying alert and ready.
8B: The 8th Grade B Volleyball Team traveled to Bonham Middle School on Thursday evening for a tough and exciting match that went to three sets. Although the team came up short in the end, the players fought hard and gave their best effort from start to finish.
While the team continues to work on not letting mistakes take over momentum, their determination and teamwork shone through. Analiza Zuniga stood out as the team’s top server with five successful serves, and she also contributed several well-placed tips that earned key points. Kaitlyn Copeland followed closely behind with multiple successful serves, including two aces that energized the team.
In the back row, Kyleigh Mouser and Brynlie Burr were relentless, hustling after every ball, saving tough plays, and keeping the team’s energy and encouragement high throughout the match.
Though the outcome didn’t go their way, the players’ resilience and effort were evident. With one final game left next week, the team is eager to take what they’ve learned this season and finish strong.
7A: The 7th Grade Volleyball Team served up a decisive victory last night, defeating Bonham Middle School in two straight sets! Our girls came out strong and maintained their momentum, showcasing a fantastic blend of powerful offense and determined defense. A number of athletes had truly great performances that made the difference.
Ashlyn Briggs had an incredibly aggressive game, demonstrating significant improvement and skill. Ashlyn dominated from the service line, racking up an impressive 8 points with her powerful serves. She also showed excellent offensive variety with 3 kills and well-placed, smart tips that kept Bonham's defense guessing.
Sophie Hughes was a force to be reckoned with, leading the team in scoring with 10 points off of her powerful serves. Sophie’s aggressive hitting and smart choices on the court were pivotal, but perhaps most inspiring was her true determination—she never gave up on a play, chasing down balls to keep the rally alive.
Emily Munoz also provided a crucial boost from behind the line. Her great serves throughout the match demonstrated noticeable improvement, consistently putting pressure on the opposing team and setting up our defense for success.
Our middles, Chandler Depue and Brooklyn Beierman anchored the defense and offense at the net. They had an outstanding night of blocking and executed several aggressive plays that made a huge difference, shutting down Bonham's offense and forcing errors.
This victory is a testament to the hard work and dedication this team has been putting in at practice. We look forward to seeing this momentum continue in our next match against Midway!
7B: The 7B Lady Tigers lit up the court against Bonham Middle School with a performance full of energy, teamwork, and grit. From the very first serve, Belton set the tone—fast, focused, and fierce. Every player stepped up to make a difference, showing that this team doesn’t just play hard—they play smart.
Peyton Richmond was a standout force at the net, delivering two clutch assists that kept the Tigers’ offense rolling and their momentum alive.
Harper McKinney dominated with powerful blocks and smart tips, shutting down Bonham’s front line and turning defense into instant offense.
Serenity Moore anchored the back row with incredible passes that gave her teammates the perfect setup time after time, proving that defense wins games.
Elliana Kelley showed quick instincts and sharp timing, racking up fast assists that turned rallies into points before the Bulldogs could react.
The Tigers’ communication and chemistry were undeniable as they battled through tight sets and kept their focus under pressure. Every play, every point, every serve mattered—and the Lady Tigers delivered. By the final whistle, the scoreboard told the story: Bonham never stood a chance. Because when Tigers play with this much heart, precision, and teamwork, it’s only natural they come out on top.
