Belton Middle School Volleyball opened the 2026 season with a program-wide sweep of Midway in the Lady Tigers' home opener. From the first serve to the final point, the BMS Volleyball Program showcased the energy, teamwork, and competitive spirit that define Lady Tiger Volleyball. Throughout the program, players stepped up to make plays, support their teammates, and compete with confidence. The energy from the court and the bench helped create an exciting atmosphere for the home opener and set the tone for what promises to be a great season. The Lady Tigers' opening night was a great reflection of the selflessness, teamwork, and positive energy that we want to see throughout our program. Congratulations to BMS Volleyball on an outstanding home opener! 8A: The Belton Middle School 8A volleyball team put together a strong team performance against Midway, earning a convincing 2–0 victory with set scores of 25–4 and 25–12. Avery Mills led the way with an outstanding performance, recording 20 serves, 7 aces, 1 block, 3 kills, and 2 assists. Her serving run helped create early momentum for the Lady Tigers and kept pressure on Midway throughout the match. Brooklyn Beierman also made an impact with 7 serves, 1 block, and 2 kills, contributing both offensively and defensively to the team's success. While the individual statistics stood out, the biggest highlight of the match was the teamwork and selflessness displayed by the entire group. Players consistently celebrated one another, communicated on the court, and made plays that benefited the team rather than focusing on individual accomplishments. The energy extended beyond the court as well. The bench brought tremendous enthusiasm and encouragement, cheering for teammates after every point and helping create a positive, competitive atmosphere. That energy played an important role in keeping the team focused and connected throughout the match. The Lady Tigers' performance against Midway was a great example of what can happen when a team plays together, plays for one another, and brings positive energy from start to finish. 8B: What an amazing performance by our volleyball team! The girls came ready to compete and showed great energy, teamwork, and determination from start to finish. Emily Munoz had 9 serves and 1 ace, while Jah’Mani Johnson led the team with 15 serves. Allison McCoy contributed 4 serves, 1 ace, 1 kill, and 1 assist. Harper McKinney added a strong block, while Elliana Kelley and Jaidenise Brown each recorded a kill. Lillian contributed an assist to help keep the offense moving. Rayne had an outstanding serving performance with 7 serves, 3 aces, and 1 assist. Addison also had a great day at the service line with 12 serves, 3 aces, and 1 assist. While the stats highlight some great individual plays, this victory was truly a team effort. Everyone contributed, supported one another, and gave their best on the court. The team’s hard work and commitment paid off with a well-earned BIG WIN! Congratulations, ladies! Despite having only a few practices together prior to game one, the Tigers displayed remarkable grit, teamwork, and clear growth on the court, setting an energetic tone for the rest of the year. Vera Davies got the momentum rolling early with an impressive serving run, giving her team a strong, confident start right out of the gate. At the net, Aliyah Batchelor anchored the front-row defense, showcasing smart decision-making skills and shutting down Midway's offense with key blocks. Meanwhile, Libero Zoey Copeland anchored the backline with determination, covering on the court, and leading by example. With a talented team and a dedicated work ethic, the future is bright for this 7A squad as they continue to polish their game each week. The Tigers look to build on this early momentum when they return to their home court next week to take on Bonham. 7B: The Belton Middle School B team volleyball squad delivered an unforgettable performance, securing a thrilling two-set victory over Midway with identical scores of 25-23 in both sets. The opening set tested the team's resilience early as they found themselves trailing 11-17. Refusing to back down, the Tigers dug deep, relying on relentless hustle and pure determination to fuel a massive comeback. They fought back point by point, turning the momentum on its head and snatching the first set right out of Midway's reach. That fierce competitive spirit carried straight into the second set, where every rally demanded maximum effort. Belton’s defense refused to let the ball hit the floor, diving for tough digs and keeping play alive when Midway pushed back. The team's signature fight was on full display in the closing moments of the match, as they maintained composure under high pressure to close out another tight 25-23 win and seal the sweep. Belton's victory was anchored by exceptional play at the service line. June Davidson set the tone with her remarkably consistent serve, putting constant pressure on Midway's defense. Sparks flew across the floor thanks to an aggressive serving attack, led by Olivia Villarreal-Rivera, Areanna Leza, and Lillette Jones, who each delivered crucial, momentum-shifting aces throughout the match. It was a complete team effort defined by heart, grit, and clutch performances from start to finish.
