The Belton Middle School Cross Country Team competed in the Annual South Belton Middle School Cross Country Invitational on September 23rd, and the team continued to show exciting progress as the season moves forward. With numerous personal records (PRs) set throughout the meet, BMS runners demonstrated that their hard work and consistency in practice are beginning to pay off. 8th grader Ava Smith led the way with an outstanding performance, earning a 12th-place medal with a time of 14:35.67. Ava's strong finish was a great accomplishment and reflects the continued growth she has shown throughout the season. The meet also provided an opportunity for athletes across the team to challenge themselves and see the results of their work. Setting a PR is a significant accomplishment in cross country because it shows an athlete is continuing to improve and push beyond previous limits. With so many BMS runners recording personal bests, the team is seeing progress both individually and collectively. Beyond the times and placements, the BMS Cross Country Team continues to develop confidence, perseverance, and a willingness to compete. Each race gives athletes another opportunity to learn, challenge themselves, and build toward their next goal. The coaching staff is extremely proud of the progress this team is making. The hard work, determination, and improvement being shown by the athletes are exciting to see, and the team will continue to build on these accomplishments as the season progresses.
