The Belton Middle School Cross Country team wrapped up a fantastic season at the CenTex Middle School District Meet in Waco, finishing the year with plenty to be proud of. Throughout the season, these athletes demonstrated determination, resilience, and a willingness to keep pushing themselves to improve. From early-season races to the district meet, the growth in their confidence, performance, and teamwork was something special to watch. This group of athletes brought more than just hard work to the course. They built friendships, encouraged one another through challenging races, and created lasting memories along the way. Cross country requires mental toughness, discipline, and the ability to keep going when things get difficult, and these athletes consistently showed heart in every meet. Their progress throughout the season reflects the effort they put in, the support they gave one another, and the commitment they made to becoming better runners and teammates. The eighth-grade girls had an outstanding showing at the district meet, with Dahlia Dunkin earning 7th place with a time of 13:24.11 and Ava Smith finishing 12th with a time of 13:43.77. Both athletes represented Belton Middle School with pride and capped off their season with strong performances. While individual accomplishments deserve recognition, this season was about so much more than times and places. It was about showing up, working hard, overcoming challenges, celebrating progress, and being part of a team that supported one another every step of the way. The coaches are incredibly proud of this great group of kids and the heart they brought to the program all season long. Congratulations to the Belton Middle School Cross Country team on a successful season! These athletes should be proud of how far they have come, the bonds they have built, and the way they represented BMS. What a great season for a special group of runners!
