BMS Girls Basketball vs. River Valley Game Results

BMS GIRLS BASKETBALL VS. RIVER VALLEY GAME RESULTS

The BMS Lady Tigers opened their season by hosting River Valley. BMS had a good start to the season by winning two out of the four games. The 8A Lady Tigers began the game with a little bit of nerves as they were getting settled into the first quarter. River Valley brought the heat, but the Lady Tigers were able to hold their ground playing stellar defense. Tara Stone and Emma Harvey were able to secure many quick shots and rebounds that brought us to a tie game at half. The 3rd quarter was full of speed and excitement as the Lady Tigers began driving to the hoop, which resulted in opportunities for free throws. There was lots of positive energy and aggression from key players Marci Tobar and Ainslee Alexander. Overall, the Lady Tigers out hustled the Pantherettes and brought home a win for their season opener with a score of 35-28. The team is excited to take on Cove in their next home game of the season! The 8B team started off strong, scoring the first 4 points of the game. The Lady Tigers had a great game defensively, forcing turnovers and making it difficult for River Valley to shoot. Offensively, they did a great job moving the ball around and driving to the basket. The Lady Tigers won the game with a score of 17-7. Amaya Williams, Kadence Morales, and Kensely Wolfe each scored 4 points. Lasley Cuevas scored 3 and Ai Kirkland scored 2. The team is excited to keep on practicing and get ready for their next game following the break. 7A team played their first basketball game ever after just 3 days of practice. Anessa Ortiz put 2 points on the board, and Ella Bralley put in work on defense. Ultimately, River Valley’s experienced players bested the Tigers and they lost 51-4. They are going to work hard in practice to improve their skills. 7B also made their middle school basketball debut. They put in a great effort vs the Panthers but struggled with getting past River Valley’s defense. 7B lost 32-0. Please come out and support us this Wednesday November 29 for our game vs. Copperas Cove starting at 5:30pm!
