BMS GIRLS BASKETBALL VS. COPPERAS COVE GAME RESULTS
The Lady Tigers hosted the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs for their second home game of the season on Wednesday night.
The 8A Lady Tigers played an aggressive game against Copperas Cove Wednesday night. The team held their ground and put up many clutch shots for the first 3 quarters. Tara Stone and Emma Harvey put up a big force under the hoop putting a stop to Cove’s shots. The Lady Tigers capitalized on the full court press and forced many turnovers throughout the game. Emma Harvey did a great job dominating on the court and was our top scorer with 10 points. The final score was 53-31 falling to Copperas Cove. The Lady Tigers are excited to get back to work and play another game against Lake next week!
8B played an amazing game last night against Copperas Cove. The Lady Tigers were aggressive on defense and forced several turnovers. 8B capitalized on those turnovers by moving the ball up the court quickly and creating opportunities for quick shots. Amaya Williams led the team with the most rebounds and shot attempts. Kadence Morales was the leading scorer with 8 points. Alisa Jackson, Ai Kirkland, and Amaya Williams each scored 4 points. Lasley Cuevas, Kaylee Mauterstock, and Kensley Wolfe each contributed 2 points. The Lady Tigers won their second game of the season with a final score of 26-7.
7A put in the work during practice this week and it showed in their game vs. Copperas Cove. The girls started out the game with a strong lead 10-2. Kylee Pierce and Anessa Ortiz did a phenomenal job of racking up points for the team, with Kylee scoring 18 of the 24 points made by the Lady Tigers. Kinsley Denbow’s defensive rebounds deserve some major recognition as well. The girls maintained their lead all game and ended it 24-13. The 7A basketball team is excited for their next game, and will continue to work hard to earn a win vs. Lake Belton December 6.
The 7B Lady Tigers played a great game on Thursday that brought them to win 9-0. The team played well together and really upped their defense this time around. Karis Cushman was a force to be reckoned with both on defense and offense, being the highest scorer on the team for this game and making a 3 point shot in the last quarter. The Lady Tigers did a great job improving on their weaknesses from their last game and are excited to carry this momentum into next week vs. Lake Belton.
