BMS GIRLS BASKETBALL VS. LAKE BELTON RESULTS
The BMS Lady Tigers went head to head with the Lake Belton Broncos last Wednesday night.
The 8A Lady Tigers played with aggression and speed last night against the Broncos. The team worked well together moving the ball around the court and successfully running many plays. Key players such as Brylee Reneger and Kiki Ellis played excellent pressure that forced a handful of turnovers for the Broncos. Tara Stone and Emma Harvey were the top scorers with 11 points each and many rebounds. They were dominant under the basket and created a strong force that was hard to break. Sarah Cox and Peyton Sanderford played extremely well on defense and shutting any offense down for the Broncos. The Lady Tigers pulled off the win against Lake in the last minute of the game coming to an exciting end 36-32. We are so proud of our Lady Tigers and cannot wait to see what they do against SC Lee next week.
The 8B team came out strong immediately scoring 5 points. The Lady Tigers moved the ball well and had great passes. Defensively, they were aggressive and made it extremely difficult for LBMS to run their offense. The 8B team added to their winning streak by winning the game with a score of 8-29. Amaya Williams was the leading scorer with 7 points. Kensley Wolfe followed close behind with 6 points. Ella Vaughn, Alisa Jackson, and Kaylee Mauterstock each contributed 4 points. Kadence Morales scored 2 points. The 8B Lady Tigers will have a bi week next week, but are ready to keep on working and prepare for the rest of the season after the break.
The 7A Lady Tigers started the game off strong and confident, immediately getting points on the board thanks to Anessa Ortiz. However, Lake Belton quickly found their groove and pulled ahead. Despite their hustle and hard work, the Lady Tigers lost 48-8. 7A will be working on their defense so they can bring home the win next Monday vs. SC Lee.
7B did very well on offense in the first quarter. By the end of the first half, they were up 8-4. Unfortunately Lake came back with a vengeance in the second half, and with B team down a few players, the Tigers’ defense weakened as the game progressed. The 7B Lady Tigers lost 11-18 . The team knows what they have to work on and is eager to play SC Lee on Monday night.
