BMS GIRLS BASKETBALL VS. MIDWAY

Last night, the Lady Tigers demonstrated remarkable effort and determination on the court against Midway Middle School. Their unwavering spirit shone through, lifting the hearts of everyone present, even as they faced challenges with a few missed baskets. Throughout the game, the team showcased a variety of new skills, reflecting their commitment to improvement and growth. Each player contributed to the collective effort, highlighting their dedication to both individual and team development. While the final score may not have been in their favor, the Lady Tigers left the court with pride, knowing that their hard work and resilience would lead to future successes. 8A: 8A played a tough game versus the Midway Panthers. Camrie Moore put in work on defense, hustling and preventing any passes she could. Ella Johnson and Reagan Ford played their part in helping get some points on the board. The Lady Tigers did their best to keep up with the Panthers, but they were too hard to catch. Midway won over Belton, 70 to 5. 8B: The 8B Lady Tigers had a strong first half against the Midway Panthers being only a few baskets behind. Karis Cushman had a great night of communication, defense, and offense, while scoring the most points for her team. She is a positive and supportive teammate on and off the court! Annie Nickerson’s defense was outstanding as she cut off fast breaks and had the other team flustered. She is a defensive machine on the court! The Lady Tigers successfully ran their offensive plays and have shown improvement since last week’s match up despite the loss of 37-7. BMS will continue to work hard, show grit, and support each other next week in preparation for our rivalry game against South Belton Middle School! 7A: 7A played a challenging game against the Midway Panthers. Emily Potts had an impressive night on defense, blocking any shots she could, and contributed to the scoreboard with her remarkable layups. Emily also performed well on offense, assisting Sophia Price-Morales in scoring. Sophia Price-Morales had an outstanding offensive night, scoring 2 layups to help put her team on the board. The Lady Tigers will return to work this week in preparation for South Belton! 7B: The 7B team showcased their unwavering determination throughout the game, leaving a lasting impression on the crowd. Their tenacious defense captivated spectators, as they fearlessly played through numerous fouls without losing their intensity. Alivia Martinez stood out with her exceptional screening, proving that she would not be easily pushed around on the court. Meanwhile, Jaylenne Prado demonstrated her defensive prowess by ensuring that no opponent would have an easy shot, consistently blocking attempts with confidence. Together, these players exemplified the spirit and grit of their team, making for an exhilarating performance.
